Filed Under: Is it me, or built like a dude?On her second foray into the industry Sandy "Pepa" Denton is making
sure she milks this 15 minutes for all it's worth. In her new book, she
has come forth and speaks honestly about her abusive relationships, her
temper and her rise from poverty. Denton was once married to Naughty by
Nature front man Treach (Anthony Criss). She also had a child with
rapper Tyran (Tah-Tah) Moore, a rapper accused by 50 Cent of having a
role in Fitty's 2002 shooting. (Tah-Tah was never charged.) She tells
the story of the most abuse relationships, that lasted for a decade,
with a man she will only call "Brad" During one of their fights,
she writes, "I had the hot iron in my hand and he had a handful of my
hair. He grabbed the hand with the ironin it and was pushing [it]
toward my face. ... He ended up pressingthat hot iron against my other
arm. I heard my flesh sizzling, and the smell was sickening. I started
screaming from the pain. He dropped the iron and I turned to run, and
his nail swiped across my eyeball and shredded my cornea." The incident
left her with deep scars and an eyepatch. On another occasion she
writes they had another brawl at actor Omar Epps' house, where, she
says, "Brad" threw her through a glass coffee table and tried to push
her down the stairs. Denton will be signing her book, which has an
intro by Queen Latifah and an epilogue by Missy Elliott, today at the
Virgin Megastore in Times Square. [source]
